Amanda's Grand Adventure Begins ...

Well, I had this cool quote to start this blog off, but the little paper that that quote was written on is currently misplaced somewhere in my stuff. Seeing as it is currently 1:46 AM Friday morning here in China, I am going to not look any more for that cool quote and pretty soon go to bed in this nice hotel in Guangzhou. I will write more later ... that is after I also remember my email password. lol (and yes, I'm serious) Alrighty, know that all is VERY WELL for me here! As my daddy recognized, I feel like I'm going home on this trip and about two hours ago I finally made it back after four years away. :) Thanks for "thinking" of me along my journey; your thoughts were heard by Papa. Good Night.

Great Quote 4

You got things to do kiddo! -- Sally Battles

Sally, I really appreciate your kind words to me. You have been such an encouragement to me. I know that this year has been difficult (to say the least) for you and your husband ... but thank you for letting words of hope and light be showered upon me (especially of late). You are special person, and I truly appreciate these simple words of truth. Hope I keep them in mind especially this summer overseas. Dad really has a lot of work for me to do during my time in China and Japan. I hope I listen to and obey him well!

Okay... It's Kathy Bates... Just checked on it. Well, Sally, Kathy... not too far off in the grand scheme of things. 5 letters, end in y... start with a capital letter (just kidding about that last one)... But there was a Sally Bates on Broadway in the 20's, 30's, and 40's.

You know... I now realize why this was causing me confusion. I was thinking the quote was from Sally "Bates" who I believe is an actress (I think she was in Fried Green Tomatoes and did a voice in the new Charlotte's Web movie). Anyway, I can imagine her saying "You got things to do kiddo!" Kind of like deja vu. Like I've seen her say it or something similar before (in a movie). Just thought I'd let you know that I'm trying to keep up with your blog. Glad to know you're safely in China and enjoying your favorite foods and beverages. With love Matthew.

Great Quote 3

Only God can build a tree. --- Christopher Fedor

A profound insight from a good friend. It's deep when you think about it 'cause like he said, not matter how much seed you scatter upon the ground ... Only God can build a tree. No effort of our own will do ... Only God can build a tree. May he take our mustard seed faiths and build them into the gianormous (pronounced " jy-nour-mas"), unshakable faiths that He's always wanted us to have!

Great Quote 2

I really like these lines from my friend Matthew Eskuchen's poetry. I want to be able to say this to Abba every day. He is my Lover and Love and only he can mold me anew into something beautiful and useful for His Kingdom.

Every day, i'm learning so much
My Love
I'm becoming someone I never was

Waiting on God

Well, it's now 10:14 AM; been up since about 8:30 this morning. My heart's desire is to obey my Papa's plans for me today. But .... hmmmm ... I still wait to know what to do today. I want to love HIM and His Word tells me that I love Him only when I obey Him. [For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments, and His commandments are not heavy. 1 John 5:3] And so, what have I been doing this morning you ask??? Well, playing the guitar and reading friends' blogs.

May you each be encouraged to simply wait on the Lord and enjoy His company in all that you do. He's watching and listening whether you think about it or not ... AND that truth, if we
DO think about it, can really change our daily happenings and choices!

And everything, whatever you do in word or in work (deed) do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father through Him. -- Colossians 3:17

Be still and KNOW that I am God ... --- Psalm 46:10

Great Quote taken from a Friend's Admirable and Honest Blog

"If you live in such a way that you are not continually having to say you are sorry: you are being good to people. And that is okay." -- Christopher Fedor

Cry From My Heart (Song)

Current mood: refreshed

Well, this is just what it says. My heart cried out to God, and these were the words that I wrote down as I sat, and worshiped Abba, and listened to some friends play some hip jazz music. I put them to music later so that I could sing them to Jesus. I was really hurting emotionally when they were inked on paper (on 22-23 April 2007). For me, they were a release on paper of what I was feeling on the inside, and the experience brought much needed liberation! It got even rougher after that though ... but it is still the my heart's desire to live these words out.

Cry From My Heart

Forgetting the things of my past and looking straight ahead,
I run to you. I run to you.

Forgetting the mistakes I've made today knowing this is not the end,
I cry out to you. I cry out to you.

Will you plant your love in me? Will you build it strong?
Let its roots grow deep.

Lord take my heart and make it new.
Lord take my heart and make it new.

Without you my heart falls into despair.
But with you I can live ... I can love ...
I can ... I can ... I can ...
I can be like the great I AM!
